element14 community and AMD host webinars
element14, in collaboration with AMD, announces a series of webinars designed for developers and engineers focused on the forefront of adaptive computing technologies.
AMD Versal Visions: Exploring the Frontier of Adaptive Computing
Date: 21st May 2024, 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM BST and 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM CEST
The webinar will present the AMD Versal Adaptive SoCs, an adaptive SoC platform that signifies a major advance from AMD’s previous SoC generations. Participants will be introduced to the unique architecture and application uses of the AMD Versal Adaptive SoC, including a live demonstration of its AI capabilities and other applications. The session will also cover the distinctions among the AMD Versal device families – such as AMD Versal Prime, Premium, Edge – and discuss various development frameworks and entry points suited to specific applications.
The session will wrap up with an overview of the forthcoming Versal edge development boards, enhancing developers' access to the AMD Versal series.
Simplifying Motor Control with the Kria KD240 Drives Starter Kit
Date: 18th June 2024, 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM BST and 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM CEST
This webinar, led by Karan Kantharia from AMD, will introduce the Kria KD240 Drives Starter Kit. The kit, complemented by a Motor accessory pack, the Kria App Store, and support for programming in Python as well as MATLAB and Simulink, enables developers to quickly start motor operations using field-oriented control loops and adjust pre-built algorithms for 1-to-n independent axes of control. This streamlined, out-of-the-box experience is ideal for entry-level developers, requiring no prior AMD tool downloads or FPGA development experience. The kit is particularly suited for designing compact, power-efficient, and cost-effective industrial edge applications, such as motor control and other digital signal processing-intensive applications.
Andreea Teodorescu, Global Director of Product Marketing & Element14 Community, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: "We are excited to partner with AMD to bring these informative webinars to our community. These sessions will provide valuable insights into cutting-edge technologies and empower developers to leverage the latest innovations in adaptive computing and motor control."
